Adding Color to a Spread in My Sketchbook

Rocky is much cuter than I have drawn her here!

Thanks for joining me as I finished painting this sketchbook spread—an overview of four memorable days in Savannah. So much more happened, but these pages capture a few favorite highlights. We especially fell for Rocky the cat, who clearly has excellent taste in humans—she found her way to my son’s apartment and stole our hearts. We also loved eating at Flora and Fauna, exploring the SCAD Museum of Art, and taking long walks that led us to discover Savannah’s Waving Girl.

Materials used: Platinum ink, Derwent Intense paint pans, and a few Neocolors II pastels at the very end, after the video. I am working in a handmade sketchbook. A tutorial on how I make them can be found here.
