Drawing and Chatting with Charlotte

After the live ended, I added one more layer of paint and a few details in the background to finish this painting of Rocky.

This morning around 8 a.m., I was getting ready to head to my studio to paint a bunch of different pages in my sketchbook and make some progress on a larger piece I’ve been working on. I decided I was feeling brave and could spend part of the time live on Substack. I texted my friend

Charlotte Hamilton

to see if she wanted to join me—she said sure! Love that she was game to be spontaneous.

We chatted about Char’s daily practice, her color palettes, who the cat in my sketchbook is, and a side hobby of mine: writing letters and collecting stamps.
