Love this so much! What a wonderful way to engage everyone in making memories together. May need to try this on our upcoming Italy trip! Do you have a post of travel art supplies you like to take with you trips like these?
Hi I made a post a while back (no 41) that shares my travel pack, but it’s joined together with a retreat so I think gets lost. I will share again soon, but in the meantime here’s that link:
Thank you! Would you mind sharing how you taped your family combined accordion travel pages together without seeing the tape? I love how it reflects everyone’s personality and take away from your travels. I also adore your mini accordion book in the small candy box. So creative!! Thank you
Hi Amy I just carefully taped the pages along the edges on the back so half the tape is on one page and half on the other. It’s a gentle white art tape sort of like a washi, so it’s also easy to fold. I hope this makes sense.
I loved the shared journal. We have an upcoming 3 sister trip and I got journals for myself and my sisters but I think I will only bring one journal to share! Wonderful post.
I love the idea of the accordian book. That was brilliant. I usually have a small pocket size sketch book of no description whilst out and about and if I get a minute or more I do quick sketches with notes. The more formal journal back at our AirBnB or other accommodation awaits with inks, and stamps and glue and pen and pencils to do a more elaborate art journal entry of my day. So far that works for me. At some point I want to go to a place where the goal is to just live there a while and draw/paint etc. Your family project is awesome.
How lucky you and your family are to share journey memories together like this. Your sketchbook is so intimate and personal. I can feel the energy of the boys in their drawings as they relate to the places around them. Yet their adventures are private and secure because details are missing. How intriguing!
I loved the little accordion sketchbook with the Ricola cough drop box...so cool! The family sketchbook was awesome;just seeing what your family came up with, all the colors...just beautiful. Thanks for sharing...this brightened up my morning...

Thanks, Sandra. Seeing how the family pages evolved each time we made one was so much fun!
There's always something so special about an accordion sketchbook, but add in the collaborative element, and little box—pure magic!
Thank you! I am loving the accordion sketchbook format more and more each time I fill one.
Absolutely beautiful! I loved the mini sketch book of Paris! What a great idea!
