Thanks for the reading recommendations! I was wondering - when you create drawings on paper - to add them to your newsletter do you just photograph them, or scan them? Does one practice provide better lighting and resolution to share them? I tried photographing a drawing to share in a newsletter I'm creating, and it came out dim no matter how I shot it. Wondered how others ensure the drawings look so bright and clear.
Hi Alison, I take phots with my iphone, but often brighten them using an app or by bringing them into Photoshop. I also scan most of my work, so if a photo isn't as good as I would like then I switch to the scanned version. If you have a well-lit spot and few hours when the most natural light is good, then you can photograph a bunch of things at once. I find the portrait lens on the iphone helps and also shooting from farther away and then cropping in. Just some tips I have found helpful.
Thank you for Sharing Adam Ming's 10 good reasons. I still have not gotten into a solid habit of sketching everyday but I am working on it. Building the habit. Yay. Cheers.
Thank you. I really enjoyed the Draw your coffee workshop as well. It was so nice just to spend an hour working on something and getting new ideas for my artist tool box of strategies as literally for supplies. Thank you for that. I am off to the UK next week and I really hope to get some sketching each day then as well. Cheers.
Yesss! Ripley! And Lucio, the cat! I love love live it! The visual artwork is so incredibly great! And I love your b/w Ripley- sketches! Think I will give it a try, too! 🎞️✍🏻
Hi Claire, if you are outside of the US or Canada, unfortunately Michaels, who hosts the classes, limits sign-ups for security reasons. It wasn't always this way, but seems it continues to limit. Good thing is that the replay is available for anyone to watch on YouTube.
I'm excited for the workshops this month! Loved this roundup of links, too! Thank you.

Thank you so much! I notice how clear and crisp your images are - and I will definitely try these tips.

Yes, glad it resonated. I love the straightforwardness of his list. I am here to help in any way!

Yay! I have a prompt on drawing film and tv stills, too.
Love seeing a cat in your sketchbook! That one is magnificent. Definitely must watch this show now!
Oh you must. It’s a work of art, the whole series. Genius cinematography.
Thanks for the shout! That mouse is the most adorable keepsake (and heirloom at this point, IMO)
☺️
