I’m so grateful to have had this week with you and the rest of our amazing group
I’ve never drawn and painted (my own personal work) this much in a week - possibly in my life! Drawing in my sketchbook at every meal, every coffee -with others who get it and do the same !?
So inspiring and fun!
As a teacher of weeklong worships (with jennifer) it was so good for me to be on the’ other side’ and really understand in a whole new way why women love to go on painting retreats so much
This is beautiful Sam, It captures the week so fully! I also have never drawn and painted so much in a week, it was thrilling and intimate and so special. Glad to have spent the week with you!
Seventeen pages!!! Sam!!! To anyone reading this: Sam’s upcoming book, Draw Your Adventures, is going to be amazing (from a person lucky enough to have gotten a sneak peek). It was so wonderful getting to know you and work and play alongside you on this trip! You captured it so beautifully. ❤️
Love your written log of Oaxaca and our time together. It’s so true that having a small circle of artist friends who we can share, chat, admire … is so important as we are all love quite a solitary life.
Oaxaca with you and the other ladies was very special! ❤️
Oh, wow. That sounds like a fantastic trip. I agree with the idea of an extended family of women who can support each other at so many levels. I have a cohort of ladies ranging in different ages who share common interests, respect each other and open - willing to learn from each other, too. I call it my sisterhood. I delight in this because I grew up with two brothers. These women are a part of my 'village' even though 3 of them live in Europe. So, it is a really extended family of sisters. :) I would love to do an artist week somewhere with a group of kindred spirits one day. Glad your trip was fabulous. Cheers.
What a wonderful community of creators! I feel in awe of such special time together as women and as artists. Thankyou for sharing. It sounds as though inspiration was compounded by what each of you added with your unique vision and style.
It was wonderful to see Oaxaca a bit through all of your eyes! Don’t forget that all of you inspire not only each other but those of us participating vicariously.
Beautiful description of our week Sam!
So honest and authentic

Sounds like a great trip!
Because of your article, I can almost say I've been to Oaxaca. Muchas gracias, Samantha. Via con Dios!
