Hi Samantha, maybe you can impart some wisdom for me. I draw many things I see when I'm traveling but I always get overwhelmed when I approach a scene and there is so much to it. I say to myself, how am I going to draw the intricate building or scene. Do you have any words of wisdom on how to approach this and not feel overwhelmed or a failure before you even start. Thanks

Hi Teri, I think a nice way to approach to a big, open, intimidating scene is to focus on one small detail. Find a window of a building or a door, or an architectural detail. Draw a table or chair inside a cafe, or something you have eaten.. If you want to capture a whole landscape or city scene, then really simplify and put down big, bold shapes first, and then add some details next. Its always a matter of just going for it and practicing. There is no reason to fear a blank page. Whats the worst that can happen? I hope this helps a little bit.

Haha love that. I think it’s a great thing to do to just get us off phones and looking at the world, never mind the drawing!
