I love your little book of portraits. I saw it originally on one of your zoom calls and it's fun to take a closer look. I do have some dread around drawing faces. I'm usually most successful at getting a likeness when I'm not really trying to at all! But it can be hard to "not try" on purpose.

I just love the various moods you have in your portraits here! I did a 50 days of pencil sketching project a few years ago and about halfway in I started trying portraits... they were SO tricky at first but -- my goodness -- does repetition help develop your hand/eye!! By the end I was having so much fun (but I also was taking too much time with them so I stopped when my business got too busy, and am just now coming back to any kind of sketching / art practice). Thank you, as always, for the inspiration!

That’s the great thing about an art practice. It’s always there for you when you’re ready.

Your figures are excellent you should give yourself a lit of credit but I love your humbleness. It is really hard to draw figures, I'm a beginner drawer and its difficult especially hands. Thanks for sharing. 💙

Hi, love this. Don't regret... not worth that feeling when you clearly had the appreciation and respect, and you had another creative outlet. I think its wonderful that you can think of your mother and her talent now, knowing she would be so proud. Take it one step at a time.
