This story and visuals are wonderful and inspiring. Creating a scholarship is, in my mind and heart, one of the most meaningful acts we can do, so that our loved ones live on. Thank you for sharing.πŸ’œπŸ’œ

So cool about grandmother and great aunt! I love that they made space for each other by agreeing to take on different but complementary art mediums. Fantastic story!

Yes, we have always been amazed by that pact they made. I really shows how creativity can take on any form if you are driven to just make and create!

I joined recently and was going back through some of the earlier postings - My grandmother was named Elsie and her sister (although not a twin) was named Evelyn. What a sweet story. So much talent in your family. Thanks for sharing and congratulations on the creation of the scholarship program - what a beautiful way to honor their memory.

What an impressive and inspiring story. It reads as a novel. And the photo of them as girls is so sweet, their personalities pushing through the lens.

Hi Teresa, Thanks so much. Yes, the scholarship and all my mom has been doing over these past months has been a little on the down low. I am happy to be able to share what she's accomplished now that it is real.

Thank you for sharing this fabulous story. Maybe my granddaughter, Samantha Shuflit, can apply for that scholarship in 3 years! She has a similar heritage with a great grandmother who was a fine artist. And we have good friends who still live in Amagasset. I hope they knew her. I’m asking today. I love this whole story. Thank you so much for sharing it! Good for your Mom. It’s got me thinking. Michele

I love how small the world is! Please let me know if your friends knew Elsie (and Steve) Manville.

They didn’t know her but now they are very intrigued. They collect art for both their home in NY and in Park City. And they want meaningful pieces that they love so the connection with an artist that was local interests them. Good for you for telling this story…who knows where it will go!
