Great job describing your work and art, Sam. Having so many ways to express your skills is meaningful and unique. It’s why so many people are drawn to your teaching, your books, and your art. We have a lot we can learn from you! I’m excited to hear that another book is in the works! That’s awesome. Thank you for all you do.
Thank you, Paige! It can get overwhelming but these days it’s teaching, my sketchbooks and my book projects that keep me most busy. Helps to narrow it down 😅
I was thinking about all the balls you juggle the other day, when I was getting caught up on the posts in here after life dragged me off for a bit. I'm not sure how you do it, tbh. it seems like a lot.
another book sounds fascinating. and I can't wait to get Draw Your Adventures. :)
and I love seeing a glimpse of your son's clothing and feel like it must be a truly lovely thing to be able to share a studio.
How do you keep your studio so clean!? It's amazing..... You're right about sewing machines. I think that they have a certain look that adds imagination to an area. It makes people think what could be created here. At the same time, I love the look of older typewriters. I think that they're just beautiful...and older cameras as well. That may be an age thing with me though because I like some older cars and I don't even drive! I have NO idea what's up there. I REALLY don't... Some older items just make my heart jump for some reason. Anyway, great post.
Thank you for a dreamy time in DUMBO! I loved every second of it, filled a whole sketchbook, and met so many beautiful humans and dogs. My inspiration cup runneth over!
The dogs in NYC are just the best, aren’t they? Can’t wait for you to return so we can spend more time just flaneusing, drawing, and even peleton-ing together!
I wish I could have Draw Your Adventures already. I have purchased the Kindle ebook and the paperback! I can’t wait to have a physical copy of one of your books.
Best wishes on your next book proposal. I can’t wait to find out what the book is.
Yes! I am very excited about it :)

It is so lovely to share the space and especially fun for me to see the process as he creates.
Thanks so much, Em. Only two months before the book comes out!
Cool (from above) perspective on your walking home the flowers sketch!
Thanks Jon :)

Haha yes I love all the old machines also. Typewriters, cameras, sewing machines… all the older things. Thanks, Angela

So cool to see your studio pics and say to myself “I was just there!!”
Your workshop was so much fun… took away many new ideas which I am already incorporating into my daily sketching!! 😍
I loved meeting you, Nanette! So happy to know you left with some new inspiration!
