Draw Your World: A Month of Writing, Lettering, and Letter Writing
Celebrating Letter Writing Month with Special Workshops (and some special guests!) on the Beauty of Hand-Drawn Letters

In celebration of Letter Writing Month, I’m hosting a series of meetups focusing on handwriting, lettering, typography, and the art of drawing each letter of the alphabet.
Together, we’ll explore the connection between writing and drawing—especially that moment when handwriting shifts into illustration. We’ll discuss the differences between calligraphy and hand-lettering, how the way we write words can enhance journal-keeping, and the role of lettering in storytelling and self-expression.
I can’t wait to dive into this with you!
I also have some AMAZING special guests coming to visit during the sessions.
The incredibly talented cartoonist,
, is going to visit us in the first meeting to talk all about handwriting and its role in his work. Here is a little teaser of Jason writing.New Yorker writer, Rachel Syme, will be visiting to talk all things letter-writing and share highlights from her new book, Syme’s Letter Writer.

This topic is very near and dear to me. Here is a post about my history and relationship with my handwriting. I have been using it in my work since college!
No. 34: Keeping a Lost Art Alive
I have always been a very reluctant writer who loves to write words. I like the way my handwriting and hand-drawn words look, how they complete a page in my sketchbook, and I enjoy the process of playing around with all of the various ways I can push and pull my natural handwriting.
And another post about writing letters and the lost art of letter writing:
No. 39: A Love Letter to Writing Letters
My love of letter writing dates back to my summer camp days, when each year my mom would send me away with new stationery so I could write home regularly. I loved stationery sets like this one, finding different-colored papers to write on, decorating the envelopes with stickers, and using various postage stamps from the post office. I am still obsessed with anything small, like the seed envelopes that were featured in Sara Midda’s

Thank you to everyone who shared their input in the chat about timing! Since most of you prefer afternoon sessions, I’ve scheduled each meeting accordingly.
